Catalogue of Professional Learning for School Staff on Inclusive Practices and Disability
Introduction
We know how important it is that school staff are well-informed, have opportunities to grow their knowledge, skills and capacity, and feel equipped with tools and resources to assist their work. Given what is known about the benefits of inclusive approaches to education, it is an important topic for educational professionals to stay up to speed on. However knowledge about inclusive practices and disability is continually growing and it can be difficult and time-consuming for school staff to find good information and training.
School staff want up-to-date, evidence-based information and regular opportunities to explore practice issues with peers. We want to make it easier for schools to access quality professional learning (PL) around inclusive practices and disability for their teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, administration staff, counsellors, and school leaders.
How the Catalogue is Organised
We have prepared a catalogue of PL for school staff in South Australia relevant to inclusive practices and working with students living with disability. The range of local PL relevant to school inclusion is limited and mostly specific to a disability or type of disabilities. This catalogue is a starting point for schools to explore and engage with PL relevant to supporting inclusive school communities. We hope the catalogue makes it easier for educational professionals to choose where best to spend their time on learning and accessing good information.
We have researched widely and catalogued workshops/webinars/lectures from South Australian organisations. Read about each Training Provider. Each PL entry includes as much information as is available including the title, description, date/time/location, and registration details. The catalogue is arranged in alphabetical order according Professional Learning Areas and you can use the 'Search' button to find PL that suits your interests.
Purple Orange will review and update the catalogue on a regular basis so its contents remain current and useful.
